Steven M. Bachrach

Dr. D. R. Semmes Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, Trinity University

Steven M. Bachrach is the Dr. D. R. Semmes Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry at Trinity University.

His research is in the area of computational organic chemistry, on which subject he has published more than 100 articles, has authored a book and runs a blog devoted to discussing the latest research in this area.

In addition, he has been a pioneer in the use of the Internet as a means of communicating chemistry. He was the editor-in-chief of the Internet Journal of Chemistry¸a progressive journal that enabled enhanced publishing, including some of the issues described in his TEDx talk.

At Trinity, Stephen has been a driver of the new Center for Sciences and Innovation and major curricular changes within the chemistry department. He teaches general chemistry, organic chemistry and quantum chemistry.
