We have some great audience applications coming in for TEDxSanAntonio. There are many great responses from the people selected so far but this one caught our eye.
This is an answer to the question “What else do we need to know about you? (… that we haven’t asked you already.)
“I’m kind of fun. I’m probably old enough to be your mom. Sometimes I make a fool of myself, and I know how to make really big mistakes. In my younger years, I played Lucy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Some people said I was type cast. Once I wore a duck suit in my role as mascot for a radio station. I was really the promotion director, but my duck never showed up. I’ve carried Elizabeth Dole’s shoes in a bag, my pen was rejected by Angela Lansbury, and I was asked to star in a Chinese movie by a “vely famors dilectel in Chinr” when we lived in Chengdu. I like colorful folders, big diamonds, kind people, a good night’s rest and beautiful sculpture. I’m kind of a nerd in that I’m turned on by cool science and math, even if I don’t completely understand it. And the lights of my life are my husband and two kids, even when they drive me crazy.”
She nailed it.
