I applied to speak at TEDxSanAntonio because it has a great reputation. I live in Tucson, so it was a challenge to connect with the other speakers, but the staff of TEDxSanAntonio, and my curator, James Lancaster, made it easy for me. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the entire TEDxSanAntonio team. From top to bottom, they all worked seamlessly to make my experience as a speaker a once in a lifetime experience.
The rehearsals, speaker reception, and the event itself were all positive experiences. All of the speakers supported each other and the staff was right there at every moment to fulfill your every need. I felt totally supported and as-such, was able to walk on stage for my ten minutes of TEDx fame and share my idea worth spreading, ‘How To Talk to A Bigot,’ with ease and confidence.
The audience of over 500 people was receptive, responsive and supportive. Afterward, many of them walked with us to the reception where we all engaged in some wonderful conversations. As a result, I fell even more in love with San Antonio and it’s people. If you are chosen to speak at TEDxSanAntonio, it will be one of the highlights of your life.
