As we approach Thanksgiving, a few things we’re thankful for.
TEDxSanAntonio is made of people. Except for catering and parts of the production crew, we’re an all-volunteer organization (including myself).
Without our volunteers there would be no TEDxSanAntonio.
It takes all kinds of different skills and backgrounds to put on events like “Now You Know” last Saturday. From event planning to technical to creative to speaker coaching to editorial to marketing to video production to social media to logistics to project management to just plain hustling… it takes all kind of skills.
We started work on “Now You Know” almost a year ago with a venue search as we pondered growing our community. We toured the Witte Museum Mays Family Center in hard hats and used a lot of imagination to see ourselves in that space, construction of which wouldn’t be complete for another six months.
Since then, we finished producing the March 2016 event, “You Think You Know”, and produced the viewing event for TEDWomen2016. It’s a been a busy year for TEDxSanAntonio volunteers.
More than 65 volunteers spent thousands of hours to support the TEDxSanAntonio community in 2016. HUGE thanks for everything they’ve done for us.
