Your local TEDx team is thrilled to announce our first-ever TEDxSanAntonio Blues and BBQ event, dedicated to celebrating our community’s rich tradition and impeccable pedigree in blues music and barbecue.
Join us on Saturday, August 19 for this very special half-day event exploring our rich blues past and present. We’ll have delicious barbecue from Dignowity Meats and Kings Highway Brew and Q (with vegetarian options, of course), including free samples and full meals for purchase. And because barbecue without great beer would be…well…cause for singing the blues, we’ll have plenty of brew provided by our longstanding partners at Ranger Creek (including one free beer for every attendee). And if you’re not a drinker, we’ve got you covered as well, with complimentary Topo Chico.
And naturally (because you’d expect nothing less from TEDxSanAntonio), there will be an awesome selection of talks and performances by local blues and barbecue luminaries, including:
- Daniel Vaughn, Texas Monthly BBQ Editor
- John Cockerell, Blues Musician
- Emilio “Emo” Soliz, Pitmaster, Kings Highway BBQ
- Miss Neesie & the Tin Can Trio, Blues Band
- B.R. Anderson, Owner, B-Daddy’s BBQ
- Elijah Zane, Blues Musician
- Jim Beal, Blues Writer and Radio Host
- Mr. Kenneth Dominique, Eastside legend
We’re excited that, for the first time ever, we’ll be partnering with Burleson Yard Beer Garden, San Antonio’s most chill beer garden, to bring this event to life.
