It’s 2016 and we are all phone zombies, slaves to technologies that separate us more and more from each other and the organic environments in which we live–or so conventional wisdom would lead us to believe.
This past summer I discovered a way to use those same digital technologies that permeate our modern lives to draw closer to nature—and each other—in simple, but surprisingly powerful ways. You don’t have to be an award winning photographer, a gadget-geek, or a DIYer to accomplish this: everything you need is already in your pocket.

Wayne Hartman is a Senior Research Engineer at USAA. His duties include primary research, prototyping, and development to solve business and customer needs.
