In 2011, TEDxSanAntonio had the honor of hearing speaker Sichan Siv, former United States ambassador to the United Nations and international bestselling author of Golden Bones. His talk From the Killing Fields to the White House is a fascinating, inspiring American immigrant success story.
From 1989 to 1993, Ambassador Siv served at the White House as deputy assistant to President George H.W. Bush and as deputy assistant secretary of State. In the private sector, he has held positions in social services, educational exchange, financial management, and investment banking.
Today, at the Republican National Convention, Sichan will serve as Governor Greg Abbott’s replacement in the Texas delegation.
